Stock Exchange and Commodity Exchange

Observation: Folowing Res. CNV Nº 58E/17 dated 12/11/17, the Bolsa de Valores y Productos de Asunción S.A. (Asuncion Stock Exchange) has been authorized to expand its activities according to the terms stated in Law Nº 5810/17 (Art. 74), which is in turn aligned with what is established in Law N° 5067/13 and Res. CNV CG N° 31/17. It is important to clarify that the authorization provided in Art. 1 of Res. CNV Nº 58E/17 doesn’t imply yet the permission to carry out commodity transactions through the Bolsa de Valores y Productos S.A. Such permission is subject to CNV’s approval of the Internal Regulation that would lay down the entity’s functioning regarding the negotiation of securities and commodities, as well as the operational rules that involve all the operations related to the commodities thereby negotiated. The latter is in addition to other regulation that deal with what is mentioned in Law N° 1163/97 (Art. 5), needing to also hold a resolution issued by CNV authorizing the entity to undertake such business.
